Sharon K. Roberson is the President and CEO of YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee. Prior to taking on the top leadership position at the 119-year old nonprofit in the fall of 2016, Sharon served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of Direct General Corporation. Sharon has more than three decades of executive level business experience in the public/government, private, and nonprofit sectors.
Sharon has spent the majority of her professional career in the insurance industry, including 17 years in various executive positions with AIG/American General Life and Accident and American General Property. She also served more than a decade as a state insurance regulator, including appointments by two governors as the Assistant Commissioner for Insurance for the State of Tennessee. Sharon has held the position of General Counsel for both publicly held and private equity-owned companies. She also served as COO and Senior Vice President of the publicly held companies AIG/AGLA and AIG/AGPIC. She has managed staff in multiple states and Asia and chaired numerous insurance boards and associations in multiple states. She has held various leadership positions for various nonprofit boards.
Sharon is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a degree in Economics and Vanderbilt University Law School. She is a licensed attorney.
VP Domestic Violence Services, YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee
Tracy DeTomasi, L.C.S.W., Vice President of Domestic Violence Services, joined YWCA in June of 2014. Tracy oversees the YWCA’s Domestic Violence Services including the crisis and support helpline, 51 bed shelter and transitional housing. Tracy is also the leader over our AMEND Together initiative. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University and a Master degree of Social Work from the University of Michigan. Tracy has over 15 years of experience working in residential setting with at risk populations across the country. Tracy currently serves as the president-elect of the Nashville Coalition against Domestic Violence, a member of Nashville’s Youth Violence Task Force, a member of Metro Nashville’s High-Risk Intervention Panel and Domestic Abuse Death Review Team. Tracy has served as a leader in the Nashville community on the implementation of a new lethality assessment protocol and the opening of Nashville’s Family Justice Center.
Senior Director of External Affairs and AMEND Together
Shan Foster has served as the AMEND Director since spring 2015. Shan graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human and Organizational Development in 2008. During his time at Vanderbilt, Shan was named SEC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year and is Vanderbilt University’s all-time leading scorer. Shan was drafted into the NBA in 2008 and was inducted to the Tennessee Hall of Fame in 2009. Recently, Shan was honored as SEC Legend at the 2016 SEC Basketball Tournament. Prior to his work at YWCA, Shan served as Dean of Culture for the Intrepid College Preparatory Charter School in Nashville. Shan now sits on the Board for Intrepid and is also a member of Joyful Heart Foundation’s Advisory Committee.
